This is a truly remarkable technology affecting a truly non-invasive alternative to a surgical facelift, a treatment with a specific intent for improvements of lines and wrinkles.
How Does It Work?
HIFU is a standing for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. HIFU uses the power of ultrasound to safely lift and tighten skin.
Ultrasound is a form of energy that is significantly different than light such as IPL and laser or RF energy.
HIFU protects the skin surface, whilst precisely penetrating a deeper depths (SMAS) and higher temperature than RF for example treating beyond dermis and foundation layers where structural weakening starts.
Tissue at the target point is heated 65oC thermal heat is created with the skin creating both spaced wounds and cellular friction which in turn promotes healing over the next 90-180 days. The wound healing process specially targets the SMAS layer.
What is SMAs?
SMAS or Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System is layer of connective tissue membrane which widely covered in deep tissue under dermis and connects fat and facial superficial muscles, extends and consolidates the bone of face, epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue together. These layers structure form the facial contours, support the integrity of skin, and muscles.
